2009 Dramatised Reading “Trifles”
Susan Glaspell’s 1920’s play “Trifles” is well established as an early American feminist piece. Seldom, however, is it seen on stage here. We chose it for the Theatermarathon 2009.
Framer Wright has been killed. Strangled in his sleep, a rope choked the life out of him. Only his wife was present – but she is obedience and pliancy herself, it seems. The sheriff, the attorney, neighbours and helpers all speculate. It’s their wives who meanwhile find the clues to who did it. And why…
